I still get upset because I feel that I’m been trapped by the American myth. To quote the Breakfast Club, I was a parents’ wet dream. I got good grades in school. I stayed out of trouble. I went to church every Sunday. I never did drugs. I never got drunk. I voted in elections. I donated to charities. I did volunteer work. I went to college and got a BS and a MS. I have a well-paying job. I ate my vegetables, took my vitamins, and did my homework. I did everything that you were told to do to have a good life and be happy… and I have never been more miserable.
